HOW TO X-RAY IN GIMP
It creates great interest, when we see photos and images with some sort of special effect. The X-RAY effect is basically possible with GIMP. Now, we should have a basic understanding of what GIMP is. Generally speaking, it is a short process of GNU image manipulation program, in which the operating system GNU, is actually UNIX-like.
For the X-ray effect, which is generated by the images and photos, you must have software that allows image editing and is readily available in most types of operating systems. The first step for this purpose in the image is still to choose a picture you would like to change.
GNU is nothing but an operating system, just like UNIX. To add extra effects to photos and images, like the X-RAY effect for example, then you need to have software with the necessary operating tools. First, you have to select a picture on which you want to see the effect. Having a picture in your hand now, you are able to go to the GIMP image editor, where it will be possible to open the image.
After seeing the picture on your screen, you have to enlarge the area in which the said effect would be made. This means a larger image will be created, which helps to have a clear and larger view. The look of the picture will be enhanced.
By changing color and adding color effects, the looks would be more impressive. By going to the menu and clicking on color, you would be able to find the levels in the presented list where you have to choose the levels tab. Then, you will be asked to adjust the color level, after opening another window. The adjustment can be made by using the side-bar. This is a continuous process to get the transparent effect.
To get the desired effect, sometimes you have to do it several times. Often, it can only be possible by fine tuning. But for this you have to go to the filter menu and may get the help of Gaussian and Sharpen tool. Finally, it would be adjusted by HUE-saturation and brightness-contrast controls from the color menu.
After all these changes, the edited picture can be saved and must be stored in the history of GIMP. If you want to make any changes in the future, then you must to go to the history menu. Without taking any help through photo shop, the X-RAY effect on GIMP can still be done, but it must be memorized as it so exhaustive.
